5-Minute Breathing Reset

Some days move faster than we realise. Between work, messages, meetings and everything else competing for our attention, it can be difficult to find even a few quiet minutes. A simple breathing exercise can be an easy way to pause and bring your attention back to the present moment. You do not need any equipment or a completely silent space, just a few minutes to yourself.
Try this 5-minute reset
1. Get comfortable Sit somewhere comfortable with your feet resting on the floor. Relax your shoulders and let your hands rest naturally.
2. Settle your attention Take a moment to notice your breathing without trying to change it. Simply pay attention to the sensation of breathing in and out.
3. Slow your breathing Breathe in gently through your nose for 4 seconds.
4. Breathe out slowly
Exhale gently for around 6 seconds. Avoid forcing or holding your breath.
5. Repeat
Continue at a comfortable pace for a few minutes, allowing your attention to return to your breathing whenever your mind wanders.
When can you use it?
Try this short reset:
before starting work
between meetings
after a stressful moment
when transitioning from work to home
as part of an evening wind-down routine
Khryso Tip
You do not need to completely clear your mind. Simply noticing that your attention has wandered and gently bringing it back to your breath is part of the practice.
A small moment for yourself
Wellbeing does not always require a long routine. Sometimes, five intentional minutes can be enough to create a little more space in your day.
